No-key Keyboard

Maybe I am too conservative, but I don't really like this kind of concept product. The problem is that they try to make the function to follow the design. I believe design follows the function. I even had a bit of problem when I changed to my new iMac which gives a new style keyboard that has very slim key-pads.  No-key keyboard? I can imagine it will be really tricky to provide a proper feedback.
Just my thought.

Green Design - Nokia 3110 Evolve

One of the biggest issues of this modern industry is environment. It has been a big concern and discussed in many places as one of the common topics. However, the interesting thing is, I started noticing a huge difference lately. People actually started doing something rather than just talking about it. Especially this year, I have seen couple of clients who want to develop a website related to environmental issues or encouraging customers to make better choices for the environment.

The common industry is, of course, cleaning products, charity organization, and food. But I didn't really expect to see mobile company will participate. Virgin mobile started "Flick off" campaign, but it wasn't actually up to product level.

Nokia 3110 Evolve website isn't very fancy website, not a great design, but it was very interesting to see the green concept has reached to mobile product. I also liked the way the designer talks about her approaches to create an environment friendly product.

Have a look!

Quickies

When I first time read the article about this product, I thought "Ok.... probably one of the stupid sticky softwares.. "
However, after I watched the video, I was blown away.

Synchronization functionality including Calender, SMS, To Do List and etc, shows how far this little application can be used in real life. This is a great example of showing that the true innovation can come from really small ideas.....

Quickies: Intelligent Sticky Notes
http://www.pranavmistry.com/projects/quickies/index.htm

The goal of ‘Quickies’ is to bring one of the most useful inventions of the 20th century into the digital age: the ubiquitous sticky notes. Sticky (a.k.a. Post-it) notes help us manage our to-do lists, tag our objects and documents and capture short reminders or information that we may need in the near future. Keeping track of these sticky notes is a difficult task in itself. They are yet-another passive pieces of paper.
‘Quickies’ are stickies that have some intelligence and the ability to remind us about the task we ought to perform or to provide us at the right time with the information we captured in the past.

‘Quickies’ enrich the experience of using sticky notes by allowing them to be tracked and managed more effectively. The project explores how the use of RFID, Artificial Intelligence and ink recognition technologies can make it possible to create intelligent sticky notes that can be searched, located, can send reminders and messages, and more broadly, can help us to seamlessly connect our physical and digital worlds.

Digital Flight Ticket

Timezones and Ticketime
Ticketime is a boarding card and a wristwatch all in one. The fringe of the ticket is made of electronic paper that could be torn off and worn as a wristwatch during the period of your travel. Before your departure, the airline company would preset the watch to the time zone of your destination. It is returned to the airline counter during your check-in upon your return flight, whilst still serving the purpose of a flight ticket.
